Taylor
Thomas is a native of Vicksburg, MS and received training at Debra Franco’s
Preparatory School of Dance. She continued to The University of Mississippi and
graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management and a minor in Theatre Arts.
While in college, Taylor taught at Deborah Kaye’s School of Dance and helped
form Hinge Dance Company and Ole Miss Student Dance Company. She traveled with the
University’s dance company to the American College Dance Festival 3 years in a
row performing and finally presenting her own choreography for adjudication in
her last year. Her professional experience includes performing in the
nation's longest running outdoor drama, The Lost Colony in Manteo, NC. She has
also lived in New York City and trained at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on
Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam, and Alvin Ailey along with interning at The
Joyce Theater. She's now living in New Orleans and teaches at Dancer's
Pointe. Taylor has performed and choreographed for New Orleans' companies
Synergy Dance Productions and Avatar Movement Dance Company. She is also the assistant choreographer
for the Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen Pageant and the Miss Mississippi
Pageant. Taylor has developed a
passion for teaching equal to her passion for performing and she looks forward
to sharing all of her knowledge and experience with her students.
